Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

Kudos to Kim Santini!!! Official 2015 Kentucky Derby Artist!

Ok, I'm going to use this as yet another opportunity to pat myself on the back for having stellar taste in other people's art.  I need to pat myself on the back because for nearly two weeks, we've been getting hammered with snow and I've been stuck at home with four little ones telling me just exactly how wrong I am about any number of things, that I look like I'm having another baby (which I am not, as I have a 26 inch waist after four children thank you very much!), or that my hair looks terrible, etc. etc.  Never in my life have I been privy to such on-going or generous levels of criticism.  That said, if I ever do get famous, God knows I will remain much the same as now having four major critics ever at the ready to take me down a notch (or three).

On to the blog post (very sorry for the rant)...Kim Santini, a Michigan based artist painter of all things furry (and otherwise) was recently chosen to be the official artist of the 2015 Kentucky Derby!  This is exciting, especially considering I have a small painting of hers of my neurotic weimeraner toddler/puppy, Calvin.  I'm overjoyed for her except that I can no longer afford her work!  Ugh!  I shall find a way to acquire another, only it will have to be on the down low...The hubby, as patient as he is with my rather tantric art collecting, is finding my sneaky purchases less and less amusing.  And therefore, future purchases will be covert operations...I can't say any more, lest hell freeze over and he read this blog...
