Hello! It's gorgeous here today and I was able to spend some hours at the easel. Pretty excited about this piece and hope to complete on Mother's Day!
So...our lower level flooded two weeks ago. It was pretty bad. And that's where my studio is. The good news is that it could have been worse, but we are in the midst of a cleanup and redo of all the baseboards and moldings, and refinishing all the floors. It was bad enough to submit to insurance, which made the poor hubby pretty pissed off. All his 80's metal band vinyl records were ruined as were a ton of his army gear, the zebra rug he brought back from South Africa (this will be retanned and the back taken off and redone. He had tons of books, special things that he'd been saving (for what, I'm not sure).
I felt bad as very little of my really precious things went for a swim. And I do mean swim. I got a photo of an earthworm swimming by the billiards....
Good news is also that things are finally back to normal except that it is the end of the school year and we've had events at the two schools almost every night this week. I'm really looking forward to slowing down a little and getting back to creating stuff. I get grouchy when my creative monster doesn't have an outlet for a while...
