Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

What is a SNOOD, you ask?

snood

sno͞od/

noun

1. an ornamental hairnet or fabric bag worn over the hair at the back of a woman's head

2. a wide ring of knitted material worn as a hood

My little bro is about as difficult to buy gifts for as my fella.  So, I had to enlist my hipster sister-in-law, the ever-trendy 30-something who has the best taste of any solitary individual I've ever met.  I love her style and we're the same exact size (thanks for the Anthro dress, Sis!)...except that she is a former nationally-ranked sprinter, which means that I will never even begin to approach her level of lean-ness.  She looks great (!) and if I didn't love her so much, I'd have acute ham envy.

Sister-n-law says that brother needs a scarf, so I decided to make him one with some scrap fiber. I looked for ideas on-line and happily stumbled upon photos of the "Snood" on Pintrest, and it seems that Snoods are not just for girls anymore...there fellas all over our nation's cities sporting snoods for warmth.

I updated the look with uberthick felted wool that acts as a wind barrier and is water/bacteria resistant.  This "Snood" would be as at home running errands as it would be on the slopes.

Here's my in process photos.  This piece can be worn four+ ways.

My Materials...Two old sweater cuttings, pins, good German thread, Italian shears.
