After a little tweaking...

I added more color to the sky under the clouds and also highlighted the hill in the backdrop.  I'm pretty happy with the result, and so varnished it, officially ending this small project.

Maryland Hall for the Arts sent out a request for submissions to their annual auction.  Entries are due Tuesday, and I think I'll submit this one.  Wish me luck!

The rest of the weekend, when I'm not playing nurse to our two boys (both have croup), I hope to do a little sewing and start a new chair redo...yesterday I picked up a fantastic armchair with caning that was really well intact considering the chair was probably born when I was.

Below is the nice solid oak, Made in America piece that is vintage for sure and just needs a little love--Some turquoise paint, new upholstery, and perhaps a little gimp trim.  Here's what I'm starting with:
