Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

Cleaning Day...

Clutter space, cluttered mind.

Yesterday, my senior and I spent a combined 16 hours rearranging, painting, and organizing my work room. Since Santa brought me a huge easel at Christmas, I had no room for anything else and an overhaul was well overdue. Next up is my studio walk-in closet but that will have to wait until next week because I’m beat.

Here’s where I am painting now. A cork floor is a little easier on the tootsies than tile or hardwood although it is harder to keep clean. I also took the opportunity to do a better job with inventory. I recently has a client ask about a piece on my site that I thought was at my cottage in Maine when in fact, it was right here in my room (stacked up with about 50+ other /smaller canvases). So, Amy, if you are reading this, I do have Frank’s Farm #6! It’s a 9x12 and $325+shipping. (below)

As you can see, Low Tide is still on my easel. It just doesn’t look finished yet to me….I decided to add some clouds over the weekend and hope to have it completed this weekend. You can see it in the first photo.

Thank you for spending some time with me today!

Workspace on other side of the room…good for working on watercolor works, drawings, and studies for larger pieces. Lighting up the color of the room made a significant difference in the amount of light as well as the reflection of that light. It is very dark in the winter, so even nominal amounts of light matter when trying to get colors right. This is why a painting may look very different on a wall at home vs. a gallery where the lighting if carefully curated along with the art…
