Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

Progress Report on "Old Bayliner"

Papercuts can take a lot of time because the glue has to dry before adding more details. I like to add layers, so that it has more dimension than a standard flat piece of nice cold press 140# paper.

Here’s what I have so far…

My little guy, who is eight years old determined that the registration number for this boat is “MD 04”. Of course, that’s not nearly long enough but hey, artistic license can also apply to boat license as well…

Then below is where I stopped today. I think this piece is ready to have the edges tidied up and mounted so that it can be framed.

I’ll post some photos of the piece completed and mounted later this week. I have a ton of paperwork to do on Monday and Tuesday, but hope to have the photos of my newest piece in process, for you on Wednesday. Thank you for stopping by today and I…

Thank you for stopping by today and I wish you all health, and patience as we are separated from our friends and extended loved ones at this time. On a positive note, this time away from the standard demands of life has really allowed us to spend time on projects that we wouldn’t have had time for otherwise. Our eldest daughter, for instance, is a natural musician. She’s been playing the violin for four years or so and recently taught herself to play electric guitar as well as bass, all by ear. Today she created a really cool riff, something original, that she recorded for me and is very proud of. Although she is a little socially awkward like her mother, her ear is a gift and her musical talents are a skill that one can really dive into during down time or down turns. My art has been a refuge for me that way, ever since I picked up a brush in 1999. I too, taught myself and found something that would become my passion.

Perhaps this opportunity to slow down will put many in a place to pursue and explore new passions…
