A dear family and close buddy of mine lost a child last January. His death was needless and he was killed while minding his own business at a college bar near campus in SC. The event shocked our town and surrounding areas as the family was involved in all kinds of sports, civic groups, etc. Their slain son was a lacrosse player and they are building a beautiful lacrosse field house in his honor at the college in his honor. Last Saturday there was an auction to benefit the field house building fund and my piece “Good Wind”, #1 of 100 signed and numbered giclee of the original paper cut/watercolor was up for grabs. What a wonderful way to celebrate a young man’s life and build a memorial, a physical place where his family and former teammates (all of whom came up to Maryland for the funeral) can remember him.
Thank you Bakhsh family for letting me be part of this auction to remember your boy. He had a beautiful smile and was dearly loved.
